    Aldar Education are currently seeking an outstanding EAL Lead Teacher at Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing in theacademic year. This role will be a through school role supporting students from FS to Year 13.

    Mamoura British Academy is a British curriculum mixed gender school until Year 8 and a girls only school from Year 9 onwards. It is located in a state of the art building in the heart of Abu Dhabi.     Minimum Qualifications
    • A Bachelors Degree in any subject along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    • A Level 5 Diploma to teach English as an Additional Language: eg. TEFL/TESL/TESOL/CELTA/DELTA Trinity or equivalent

    Minimum Experience
    • Minimum 5 years teaching experience in English National Curriculum

    A. Roles and responsibilities:
    • To ensure that English as an Additional Language (EAL) students needs are met through data informed intervention and support
    • Working collaboratively with class teachers classroom assistants and the Director of Inclusion to ensure provision is targeted and impactful
    • To be an excellent communicator at all levels
    • Be committed to developing positive relationships with all members of the school community
    • Working alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet the requirements of the curriculum and allow all students to make expected levels of progress
    • Working with parents to ensure the happiness and best academic outcomes for all students
    • Working cooperatively with curriculum support staff (where applicable) to support student development
    • To conduct Monitoring Evaluation and Review (MER) of EAL provision across the school and report data accordingly
    • To ensure EAL student progress is meeting and/or exceeding expected progress across all year groups
    • Scheduling of staff with additional EAL support responsibilities and supporting with learning walks and drop ins of these staff members
    • Conduct whole school professional development to educate staff on strategies for supporting EAL Learners.
    B. Teaching and Learning:
    • A clear understanding of the British curriculum from FS to Year 13
    • To be responsible for the development implementation administration and monitoring of a whole school EAL intervention programme
    • Organising classroom provision learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment
    • Planning preparing and presenting sessions that cater for the needs of EAL students
    • Motivating pupils with enthusiastic and imaginative teaching
    • Observing and assessing children in line with the school assessment policy
    • Being reflective of classroom provision sessions taught progress made and adjusting environment planning and curriculum to reflect this
    • Ensure the Mamoura British Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes are being embedded throughout the curriculum.
    C. Assessment and Data:
    • Taking responsibility for the progress of students taught and for EAL additional provision across the school
    • Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of students development using the schools designated assessment system
    • Using data provided by assessments to influence further planning provision and intervention
    • To be responsible for the data collection and analysis of EAL data for the whole school and identify next steps
    • To lead on the EAL data developed for the whole school inclusion dashboard and present to the Executive Leadership Team when requested
    • Providing feedback to parents and carers on a students progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
    D. Behaviour Management and Duties
    • Follow implement and adhere to the schools Behaviour Policy
    • Manage classes effectively using approaches which are appropriate to students needs in order to inspire motivate and challenge pupils
    • Maintain excellent relationships with pupils exercise appropriate authority and act decisively when necessary within the schools Behaviour Policy
    • Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes values and behaviour which are expected of pupils
    • Have high expectations of behaviour promoting selfcontrol and independence of all learners
    • Ensure the Mamoura Values DNA language and attitudes are being embedded throughout the curriculum
    • Carry out duties as directed and within the schools policy.
    E. Wider Professional Responsibilities
    • To work as part of a department team supporting planning assessment resources and special events linked to that team
    • Support the organization of and participation in school events outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
    • Communicate effectively with parents/carers with regards to students achievements and wellbeing using school systems/processes such as CPOMS as appropriate
    • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
    • Run a weekly ECA each term.
