    Description

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for working within theprovisions and guidelines of the Wood Quality Assurance systems andprocesses
    • Act as Cost Focal Point for specificproject scopes as required
    • Develop and maintainProject Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure(CBS) for specific scopes
    • Develop projectbudget in accordance with project estimate and CTRCatalogue
    • Manage the project work approvalprocess in terms of accurate cost code allocation and initialbudget set-up and approvals
    • Develop andmaintain project cost plans using appropriate softwareapplications
    • Monitor and control costcommitments and expenditures through all phases of projectlifecycle
    • Liaise with project management,project planning and others as required to ensure accuracy inproject cost phasing and forecasting
    • Liaisewith procurement, finance and time-capture functions, and thirdparties as required, to ensure accurate and timely capture ofprocurement, materials, subcontract and labour manhour costs.Ensure costs are allocated accurately in accordance with approvedproject WBS
    • Liaise with engineering,procurement and construction functions, and others as required, tomaintain awareness of project activities and their impact on theproject budget, schedule and costforecast
    • Provide copies of project costperformance reports in accordance with project reportingrequirements
    • Produce and issue updates toproject cost forecasts
    • Monitor and report oncost impact of project manpowerforecasts
    • Coordinate development and issue ofproject change orders/variations in accordance with engineering andconstruction change notifications
    • Assess andcommunicate cost and schedule impact of changenotifications
    • Monitor cost impact ofachievement/non-achievement of major projectmilestones
    • Monitor overall project costperformance and contingency drawdown
    • Attendproject/client meetings and present project cost performance statusas required
    • Assist manage the project costclose-out process
    • Delegate and manage the workof subordinate project controls staff asrequired
    • Liaise with the Planning discipline toensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of budgets andensure that the impact of all change requests are properly assessedand included in the schedules
    • Participate incost and estimate risk analysis sessions asrequired
    • Assist with audits to ensurecompliance with relevant Wood Planningprocedures
    • Provide guidance and support tosubordinate Project Controls staff as required

    Qualifications

    • Engineering, QS or business-relateddegree preferred although not essential if candidate has relevantproven experience
    • Experience of working withmulti-national and multi-cultural projectteams
    • Minimum of 15 years' experiencein oil and gas facilities projects
    • Candidateshall have previously held the position of Cost Engineer andideally shall have worked on at least one major project involvingthe production and processing ofhydrocarbons
    • Previous experienced of working inthe Middle East would be an advantage, but notessential
