    The Department of English at American University of Sharjah seeks applicants for several full-time permanent positions at the Assistant Professor (PhD-qualified) or Instructor (MA-qualified) rank in writing studies. Candidates should hold qualifications in rhetoric and composition, applied linguistics, English studies, English for Academic Purposes (EAP), TESOL, or a closely related field, and a specialization in academic writing.

    We seek candidates who can contribute in innovative ways to the department's writing program, which includes a multiple course progression in academic writing and advanced research writing, as well as technical writing and creative writing courses. Candidates should have a strong record of excellence in teaching and developing academic literacy, evidence of scholarship in their field and a demonstrated commitment to productive institutional service.

AUS has been accredited in the United States of America by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (1007 North Orange Street, 4th Floor, MB #166, Wilmington, DE 19801 USA) since June 2004.
