    We are looking for a qualifiedSchool Counselor to directly supportthe mission of Statesmen College Preparatory Academy for Boys bysupporting the psychological, social, and emotional needs of ourboys, designing and implementing programming that supports strongrelational bonds student to student and student to staff -ultimately resulting in improved outcomes for students. Theleadership of the school must maintain a laser-like focus oncreating and maintaining a College-Going Academic School Culture ofEfficacy. With high-quality academic instruction and thesocial-emotional welfare of our adult and young scholars as theprimary focus.

    The person best suited for thisrole is a passionate, committed, resilient, focused, self-aware,mature, mission-aligned professional who embodies the personal andprofessional efficacy necessary to carry this work forward.Statesmen is not a place to work.     Responsibilities

    • Design and deliver high-quality and effectivecounseling sessions and services for individual students and smallstudent groups.
    • Design and execute high-qualitysessions for large groups students, teachers, parents, andcommunity members.
    • Lead in crisisintervention.
    • Liaise with Senior Leadership todesign, plan and execute day-to-day operational support of studentrecruitment, enrollment, retention, andattendance.
    • Execute the monitoring andreporting on all data sources appropriate to therole.
    • Serve on the Student Support ServicesTeam and support all schoolwide efforts to execute a safe schoolenvironment.
    • Support the long-term monitoringand support of Statesmen alumni through to the completion ofcollege.

    Requirements

    • Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in schoolguidance and counseling.
    • Current and validprofessional school counselorcertification.
    • Ability to learn the studentinformation system (eSchoolPlus).
    • Familiaritywith District of Columbia Municipal Regulations and other relevantresources.
    • Ability to analyze data to informwork and decision making, analyze and evaluate available data,assess student needs, and develop and implement procedures andpolicies to support student achievement.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonalskills.
    • Strong organizational andproblem-solving skills.
    • Proof of full COVID-19vaccination (or a qualifiedexemption).
