    Description

    Minimumqualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in ComputerScience, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practicalexperience.
    • 4 years of experience intelecommunications at carrier scale working with optical networkinfrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, and dataservices.

    Preferredqualifications:

    • 4 years of experience intelecommunications, OSP, ISP, AC/DC power systems, and relayrack/cabinet/cage construction.
    • 4 years ofexperience directing field operation technicians, engineers,contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications workingenvironment.
    • 4 years of experiencereading/writing or scripting code in one or more languages (e.g.,Python, Java, Javascript, etc.).
    • Experience intelecommunications, particularly at carrier class scale with aworking knowledge of large optical network infrastructure,transmission systems, layer2/3 routers and dataservices.

    As a Network Engineer,you will be on the front lines of our efforts to executedeployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networksworldwide. You will work with Technical Program Managers, NetworkEngineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, Field Engineerswithin Google, as well as construction and telecommunicationsvendors and contractors, all to position your team and organizationfor success.

    In this role, you will havesubject matter expertise in all aspects of network communications,optical transport and routing, data centers, infrastructure, andcolocation, will be leveraged to facilitate faster, better, andmore efficient, positive outcomes for the business and ourcustomers. Your objective will be to build the world'smost reliable, cost-effective, and scalable network to support allof our current and future customers and usersglobally.

    The US basesalary range for this full-time position is $111,000-$163,000 +bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined byrole, level, and location. The range displayed on each job postingreflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the positionacross all US locations. Within the range, individual pay isdetermined by work location and additional factors, includingjob-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range foryour preferred location during the hiringprocess.

    Responsibilities

    • Direct and prioritize resources whilemaintaining quality and adherence to networkstandards.
    • Collaborate as a subject matterexpert to ensure adoption of network infrastructurestandards.
    • Deliver network capacity for Googlevia generation of bill of materials, Deployment Packages, devicemanagement, vendor management, and standard workflow basedactivation.
    • Triage of network issues,identification of root cause, generation of Maintenance OperationProcedure, and orchestration for network repair and completion ofon-site work in support of the repairactivity.
