    Responsibilities:

    • Preparationof planning documents including Master Plans, Thoroughfare Plansand Non-motorized Plans
    • Preparation of grantapplications for various clients and projecttypes
    • Preparation of safetyplans
    • Assistance with following the NationalEnvironmental Policy Act (NEPA) for designprojects
    • Assistance with following the StateHistoric Preservation Office (SHPO) for designprojects
    • Work on Planning and EnvironmentalLinkage Studies (PEL) and Environmental Assessments(EA)
    • Assistance with public engagementactivities on a variety of projects
    • Assistancewith report preparation for traffic and transportation relatedprojects
    • Maintaining a close relationship withthe client throughout project development and continuing clientcontact after project is completed
    • Work withvarious staff members on projects
    • Assisting inthe presentation of proposals to clients, selection of a projectteam and estimating time required to complete aproject
    • Familiarity with completing projectswithin developed project scope and availableresources
    • Prepare meeting materials forgoverning bodies.

    You should have thefollowing:

    • Willingnessto participate in a team-oriented environment as well as functionindependently
    • Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills
    • Developing the capabilityto manage multiple projects so as to be completed in a timely andaccurate manner
    • Familiarity with GeographicInformation Systems
    • Previous experience inplanning (co-op/internships would be fine)

    Will work heavily on Transportationprojects for the first 3-6 months, but then would have anopportunity to support other projects such as Municipal/Government,Asset Management, and/or Environmentalprojects.

    • 1 plus years of planningexperience (co-op/internship experience wouldsuffice)
