    Description

    Job PurposeTo provide technical expertise and direction to dnata businesses on all matters related to Occupational Health and Safety to reduce risks, execute safe operations, and coach on safety performance improvement.

    Job Outline
    Supports in the development of safety performance objectives and targetsDevelops with businesses safety improvement plans to meet dnata SMS targetsLeads the business in implementation of Safe Place + Safe Person observation programsPlans significant incident investigations in line with dnata investigation procedure to determine root cause and corrective actionsPlans safety campaigns with SMS promotions manager based on safety performance analyses and emerging trendsPlans and prepares for internal HSSE self-assessments and audits against the dnata IMS and external auditsFacilitates the development of intervention plans for underperforming businesses to realign with dnata SMS requirements and performance targetsLead Coaches and mentors safety advisors (trainee) in their professional and operational developmentLeads project teams in the development of safety related intervention program

    ExecuteLiaises with the Manager of Safety, dnata Safety Manager, and Head of Safety on safety performance issues to align with targets.

    Facilitates the implementation of dnata safety and standards and monitors the effectiveness within businesses. Provides technical assistance and leads incident investigations of the circumstances and root causes of incidents.
    Qualifications & ExperienceDegree or Honours Bachelors or Diploma in Safety would be preferred.

    Internationally Recognised Certificate in Health and Safety from NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHAS, IATA, ICAO, or approved Training institute in the UAE.

    Tertiary qualifications in training/safety or related field. Qualifications from a recognized international institute or association.
    Experience8-10 years of experience in Medical/safety/ground safety including at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
    Knowledge/SkillsMust be physically able to work in conditions relevant to Airport ground, catering, and cargo operations. Working knowledge of Ramp GSE, Pushback & Towing, and Aircraft Washing activities would be advantageous. Operating knowledge of various Ramp GSE used for Aircraft Handling and Servicing would be advantageous.

    Procedural Knowledge of steps involved in Preventive Maintenance such as:1) Permit to Work2) Lock Out/Tag Out3) Electrical Safety4) Machine Guard Safety5) Plant Maintenance Safety6) Working At Height
    Must be able to mentor, train & coach Entry level Safety Advisors


    Field and office-based position:
    approximately 75% field, and 25% office. Advanced knowledge with safety related requirements in interpreting OHS regulations, and safety codes. Advanced investigations skills. Advanced knowledge of observation programs and behavioral based safety. Advanced communication skills. Advanced computer and IT literacy. Advanced planning and organizing skills. Advanced data collection and analyses skills. Advanced presentation and facilitation skills. Advanced professional writing skills.
