Everybody talks a good talk! When do we act on it?
Did you know what are the easiest things to do!
Complain! Crib! Gossip! Self loathe! Dream! Imagine! Praise! Compliment! Hate! Love! And I can go on!
These are things that can be done without any extra efforts or resources.
Which boxes did you check?
The ones that empower the negative critic in your head or the one that uplifts you and backs you up every time you doubt yourself!
We can either sit here in the comfort of our chairs/homes/office desks and say oh the market is so bad, people are being laid off, my life sucks, Oh the pandemic is ruining livelihoods!
And Oh, it’s gonna be me next!
Or
We can act on these feelings, by observing our thoughts to see where they are coming from, identifying our strengths and taking action to getting started on the path we want to pursue.
Act on the right thoughts and do the right things with a purpose!
We have to try and find a solution before the issue happens or if it does, try to confidently resolve the issues while the issue happens.
But either way, we need to act! Period.
Think of the biggest struggles you had and how you overcame them
Get Clear on What You Want to do;
Dedicate Your Life to Doing it!
We live in the Golden Digital Age, and it disheartens me to see how many feel helpless inspite of being Amazingly Talented.
I was one of you before. Silently blaming circumstances, my job, certain people and things for the things I could not do or have or be.
I always said I was busy, I always had excuses. I could not to do this or do that, be here or there because I remained in a job that sucked the living life out of me.
I’ve helped 100’s of talented career professional get placed at amazing jobs with great perks.
I was also rejecting hundred of amazing candidates who were really talented but could not get the job due to the dirty secrets behind recruiting. And of course some of them lacked the right approach and were applying to the wrong jobs or were just not confident enough to know how valuable they actually are.
It took me years to notice this pattern. People have heard me say it before but, many only empathized because they knew I been working hard and had the skills to get things done.
But they could not recognize I wasn’t happy!
I wouldn’t admit to myself that I wasn’t happy.
I had to be strong. For the sake of a millions reasons I had and made up in my head.
So I kept lying to myself that I was happy.
During the pandemic I lost loved ones and this is my third brush with death of someone I’d gotten close to after my dad passed in 2014, and few years ago in 2018 my best friend passed away.
A friend’s dad whom I had become quite fond of succumbed to the pandemic. He was a wise man and we would have such intelligent discussions. I remember he told me that
“Sometimes people choose to be helpless. They choose to live a certain way because they are lazy. They are scared of what actually, going after their dream would mean to them! How do you deal with success when you’ve been numbed and okay with failures?”
Even though I had a successful career I failed at doing what truly mattered to me all those years. I woke up from the victim dream I’d been having. The one, where the loop had to be cut.
I realized I had been playing the victim for far too long and never really took any efforts to live my purpose! Many who know me here on Linkedin, know how I do everything with purpose and passion!
But when it came to my Career I quite frankly sucked at it. I was afraid and I still am but I’ve ventured out anyway.
My consciousness the good critic, a couple of self help books and my mentors virtually gave me a tight slap and said it’s high time wake up!
I was one of them!
I drifted. I did not put my agency behind what I did, I just took the job up because I could do it and was pretty darn good at it.
My true desire is to help people.
I’ve coached people all through my career during the last 11 years and I was teacher before that.
I've used my coaching skills to teach & help people to their greatness in all my past roles, and I was good at getting other people to succeed.
But, I had left myself out of the equation by not realizing I deserved similar success as well
Ruth Chang says “Drifters allow the world to write the story of their lives. They let mechanisms of reward, loss and punishment, pats on the head, fear, the easiness of an option to determine what they do. So the lesson of hard choices is:
“Reflect on what you can put your agency behind. On what you can before. And through hard choices become that person”
Far from being sources of agony and dread, hard choices are precious opportunities for us to celebrate what is special about the human condition that the reasons that govern our choices as correct or incorrect sometimes run out. And it is here, in the space of hard choices that we have the power to create reasons for ourselves to become the distinctive people that we are.
And that’s why hard choices are not a curse but a godsend - Ruth Chang.“
I present Dream Career Freedom Academy — The community I am building with people who will go after great careers and have an Intentionality Mindset not because they have to, but because they want to!
And the reason I share my story with you is for you to wake up and go after what truly matters to you in your life.
Become the person you were truly meant to!
If you fail trying. Pick yourself up and try again and again. It’s better than regretting, how you wish you had lived while on your death bed!
I am reminded of a quote by Michele Torres, founder — HFS Company: — “You don’t have to have all the answers. Seek out people with expertise where your skills may be lacking. Use their knowledge to assist you in achieving your goals. Creating synergies of purpose can create extraordinary results.”
I realize I had been unknowingly doing this all these years—seeking people out, learning from them, understanding how to use the synergies of purpose to create extraordinary results.
Purpose differs from person to person and from time to time and the situation you're in. What matters is how well we are able to utilize our existence, our skills, our talents at any given moment in life to serve somebody. That defines our Purpose.
Rather than asking yourself what is my Purpose in life. Ask the question, "Why do I want to do what I want to do?"
That will define your purpose at any given moment. This will help you in any journey in life or your career.
You have the choice to make your life better and to decide which journey gives you fulfillment and satisfaction. Choose wisely and believe in yourself.
Have the courage to make the right choices! Share your thoughts and enlighten each other, learn, grow, add value, and lead by example!
Victor Frankl said, "Live as if you were living already for the second time and as if you had acted the first time as wrongly as you are about to act now!"

And remember, the world is waiting for your abundance and your services, so don't let yourself hold you back. Go forth and Serve!
