    Description

    Precision Machining Supervisor

    Buckhannon, WV 26201

    Job Description:

    The IPT LCD & CNC Production Supervisor oversees LCD production process and CNC machining activities at the Corhart Buckhannon facility. Responsible for ensuring timely and efficient completion of LCD and reinforcement machining work while meeting customer specifications and prioritizing health and safety.

    The Production Manager reports to the IPT3 Manager and is accountable for all aspects of LCD and reinforcement CNC machining including safety, quality, throughput, and productivity. The role involves leading and coaching hourly associates to maintain a positive, engaged team through effective communication and fair performance evaluations.

    Responsibilities also include tracking production efficiency metrics, coordinating activities according to World Class Manufacturing (WCM) standards, and implementing new machining methods and technologies to enhance quality and reduce costs.

    The Production Manager must assess and instruct production processes, develop technical documents, and ensure compliance with customer orders. Collaborating with engineers and technicians to drive continuous improvement and maintain departmental standards.

    Essential Functions:

    LCD & Finishing Mill Production - 30%

    • Develop and adopt standards to enhance production efficiency and quality.
    • Stratify manufacturing losses and implement KPI monitoring.
    • Schedule work and set priorities for Finisher Specialist operators.
    • Maintain part databases and coordinate forming needs with IPT2.
    • Work closely with Reliability Engineer on equipment maintenance.
    • Provide technical support and schedule equipment calibrations.

    LCD & Reinforcement Mill Block Manufacturing - 20%

    • Serve as a subject matter expert in mill block production and CNC machining.
    • Create manufacturing instructions, review orders, and develop new machining methods.
    • Oversee mill-related projects and assist with part rejects.
    • Maintain and update SOPs and training materials.

    CNC Programming - 15%

    • Write and maintain CNC programs for multi-axis machines.
    • Utilize CAD software for setups and part modeling.
    • Implement new machining technologies and maintain machine SOPs.
    • Assist with CNC equipment installation and modifications.

    Employee Supervision & Development - 20%

    • Model VMVO and Corhart guidelines to develop a high-performance team culture.
    • Coach hourly associates to improve performance and safety standards.
    • Facilitate communication between shifts and management.
    • Manage time records, attendance reporting, and disciplinary actions.
    • Conduct rounds to drive continuous improvement and engagement.

    WCM - 5%

    • Coach hourly associates on World Class Standards and Lean projects.
    • Collaborate with pillar leads to implement WCM efforts within the IPT culture.
    • Identify inefficiencies and develop processes for continuous improvement.

    Environmental, Health & Safety - 5%

    • Promote EHS standards and a safe work culture.
    • Conduct safety audits and participate in EHS inspections.
    • Mentor EHS initiatives and drive an autonomous EHS culture.

    Requirements:

    • Machinist / CNC background
    • Bachelor's degree in a Technical Engineering discipline or Journeymen status with a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience.
    • 3+ years of leadership/supervisory experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience in a union environment.
    • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Preferred engineering degree and knowledge of Six Sigma & Lean concepts.
    • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
