Naomi Jawaharlal

Passionate about working with children with special needs. Eager to use to my interpersonal skills to bring out the best in them.

Throughout my professional journey, I have actively sought opportunities to work with diverse groups of disadvantaged children, ranging from those in red-light districts to foster care homes and traditional educational settings. Notably, my internship at the Early Intervention Centre at the South Goa District Hospital provided invaluable practical experience in interacting with neurodivergent children. 

I worked as part of a team of specialists trained to identify the needs of children with ASD, SLD, developmental delays, Cerebral Palsy and many more neurodevelopmental disorders.  I assisted in providing tailored interventions, administering IQ tests, developmental assessments. 

I worked as the Project Leader and Teacher of the learning centre at a red light district during my tenure at 'Purnata,' a non-profit organization combating human trafficking. This honed my ability to engage with children from challenging backgrounds, who face academic difficulties and raise awareness among the parents of neurodivergent children.
Driven by my  passion for children, I pursued a Master's in Child Psychology, deepening my understanding of special needs and our pivotal role as advocates for these children.

I firmly believe that my strong interpersonal skills, coupled with my desire to learn, make me well-suited for the role of a Learning Support Assistant .
