    Description

    Genesis Consulting is looking for an experienced and innovative DevSecOps Engineer who is passionate about growth and business transformation. Join the team in Washington, DC area to work on challenging projects for leading companies, leveraging a mix of legacy and modern technologies. Embrace concepts like Lean, Agile, Kanban, and SAFe in delivering and supporting applications.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    The DevSecOps Engineer will bring expertise in development, security, and operations to agile delivery teams working on integrated solutions for a federal agency. Responsibilities include modernizing large-scale web applications in the cloud, optimizing continuous delivery pipelines, improving CI/CD practices, and enhancing team efficiencies. Focus on automation, testing, coding practices, and overall product quality.

    If you're a DevSecOps engineer experienced in configuration management, operational monitoring, and Cloud Proficiency, we want to hear from you. We value skills in DevOps, software development, test automation, and system automation within an Agile framework.

    Key Levels:

    • Junior: - Applies fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical tasks
    • Mid-Level: - Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex tasks, contributing to deliverables and performance metrics
    • Senior: - Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge, leads major technology assignments, and functions as a technical expert

    Other duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Leading the technical implementation of automation infrastructure to enhance collaboration and productivity
    • Designing secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments
    • Supporting multiple agile teams across various platforms and environments
    • Implementing best practices to improve deployment quality and velocity
    • Providing technical leadership in the DevSecOps domain
    • Streamlining the software development life cycle from requirements to monitoring
    • Implementing continuous integration and delivery to enhance efficiency
    • Supporting efforts related to container orchestration, test automation, and cloud platforms
    • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for multiple product teams
    • Enhancing application delivery quality and frequency using modern Agile methodologies
    • Facilitating technical capabilities focusing on code development, automated testing, and frameworks

    Requirements/Experience:

    • Experience in DevSecOps implementation using Jenkins, Gitlab, or similar tools
    • Experience with containerized applications and cloud systems such as Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure
    • Understanding of agile and DevSecOps methodologies
    • Knowledge of source version control, CI/CD pipelines, and software build processes
    • Proficiency in Java, Spring framework, Python, JavaScript, Angular, and other relevant technologies
    • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Packer, Terraform, and Ansible
    • Familiarity with microservice architectures, Linux, and scripting
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in high-performing teams
    • Development experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and Istio is a plus
    • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, or Engineering
    • Required Certifications: Agile Certification, SAFe Certification, and Technical Development certifications
