    Description

    Role: Fulltime

    Responsibilities and Tasks:

    Install, configure, administer and patch on-premises and Amazon RDSPostgreSQL and MySQL.

    Implementdatabase backup and recoverystrategy.

    Maintain data integrity anddatabase performance, stability andscalability.

    Proactively monitors thehealth of databases and make recommendations to optimizeperformance and efficiency.

    Diagnoseand resolve database, network, and firewallissues.

    Collaborate with various teamsin developing system hardware layouts, configuring firewall rules,tuning, and load testing of mission-critical database systems.

    Comply with database securitystandards.

    Document databaseadministration and management related processes and procedures.

    Provide support to the applicationdevelopers, including, but not limited to data refresh, SQL andPL/pgSQL performance tuning and best practicerecommendations.

    Conduct code reviewswith application developers.

    Automatedatabase administration and maintenanceactivities.

    Assist with routineOracle database administrationtasks.

    MustHave:

    3-5 years ofextensive experience as a Production PostgreSQL DBA.(Mandatory)

    2+ years of experiencewith MySQL.

    3+ years of AWS RDSmanagementexperience.

    Qualifications:

    Preferred experience with Oracle.

    Proficient in relational database management system and principles,network and database security.

    Advanced understanding of database backup and recoverystrategies.

    Advanced understanding ofhigh availability solutions andstrategies.

    Proficient with SQL andperformance tuning.

    Ability to paymeticulous attention to detail.

    Self-driven and ability to meet goals anddeadlines.

    Must have stronganalytical and problem-solvingskills.

    Ability to multi-task,prioritize and work under pressure in a fast paced workenvironment.

    Strong scriptinglanguage experience.

    Fluent in Linuxcommand line utilities andoperations.

    Ability to work directlywith cross-functional teams to resolve applicationissues.

    Possess strong verbal andwritten communication skills.

    24x7on-call experience.

    Must be availablefor after hours and weekendwork.
