Duties
Note: All applicants must currently hold or beable to acquire a UAE residency visa to fill the position. Basic Function of the Position:
The incumbent support the United States Patentand Trademark Office (USPTO)/Foreign Commercial Service (FCS)objectives in the UAE the incumbent serves as the budget andadministrative assistant in the specialized area of financial andadministrative management for USPTOs Office in Abu Dhabihereinafter the Office which serves Algeria Bahrain EgyptIsrael/Palestine Jordan Kuwait Morocco Lebanon Libya Oman QatarSaudi Arabia Tunisia UAE and Yemen. The USPTO office is led by anAmerican Officer who serves as the Attach for Intellectual Property(IP) and leads IP policy for the Middle East and North Africa(MENA). The incumbent provides budgetary administrative operationalfinancial and general logistical support for a variety ofactivities through the American Officer for the USPTO locally andthroughout the region.
The incumbentprepares reviews and oversees the compilation of USPTO Abu Dhabisbudget and maintains records of all expenses; oversees USPTOspersonnel database of authorized positions; and oversees logisticsand procurement activities including credit card purchases andother administrative functions for the Office. Incumbent providesguidance and professional support to the other administrative staffat USPTO Abu Dhabi Post. Incumbent liaises with State DepartmentFinancial Management Centre (FMC) General Services Office (GSO)Information Technology Travel Office and otherManagement/Administrative Offices at post on a daytoday basis.Incumbent provides administrative support for the American Officerand specialists in the Office and provides superiors with regularreports on the administrative budget and financial aspects of theUSPTO operations and programs making suggestions when needed toimprove the overall operations of the Office.
