    Description

    JOB TITLE: DataEngineer

    LOCATION:Remote

    THEROLE: As a member ofthe Data Engineering team, you will create tools, pipelines, andsystems that enable the business to reliably operate at scale, gainmission critical insight, and power engaging data products for ourcustomers. You will be building important, large-scaleobservability into problems that are front-and-center to thebusiness. Along the way, you'll be championing a culture ofdata literacy and experimentation, enabling Splice to build thebest product it possibly can to enable music creators, everywhereIf this sounds like exciting and fulfilling work to you, applytoday

    WHAT YOU'LLDO:

    • Buildand maintain self-service tools and extensible datasets that enableour peers across the whole organization to get the insight theyneed.
    • Own and operate the structure of our DataWarehouse, ensuring quality, durability, and reliable builds of ourpipeline.
    • Address scalability issues, automatemanual workflows, and add confidence to our analytics bysimplifying and modernizing ourdatasets.
    • Ensure the quality of our data bywriting tests, building observability into our pipelines, reviewingRFCs, and providing guidance in datamodeling.
    • Participate in a business hours onlyon-call rotation to ensure the uptime and quality of oursystems.
    • Creating and cultivating a culture ofdata literacy, experimentation, and data-driven decisionmaking.

    JOBREQUIREMENTS:

    • 3+ years experience building scalableand durable software.
    • Demonstrated proficiencywith Python, SQL, and Unix fundamentals.
    • Strongfamiliarity with OLAP and OLTPdatabases.
    • Experience with data transformationframeworks, such as sqlmesh or dbt.
    • Experiencewith business intelligence platforms or data visualizationframeworks, such as Looker, Hashtable, orObservable.
    • Strong debugging skills, especiallywith distributed systems.
    • Experience buildingsupporting Cloud Infrastructure with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
    • Clear andconsistent communication in a distributed environment.

    NICE TOHAVES:

    • Experience building Infrastructure asCode (IaC) with Terraform.
    • Demonstratedproficiency with observability tools like StatsD, Datadog,Cloudwatch, etc.
    • Demonstrated proficiency withcontainers and containerorchestration.
