    Description

    We are currently lookingfor the Senior Full Stack Developer role that we have available forContract to Hire. Here are some initial requirements:

    • The applicant must hold a Green Card or US Citizenship. IEEE will not provide VISA sponsorship
    • Salary negotiations must be conducted in advance
    • Hiring decisions will be based on performance during the first 4-5 months
    • The applicant should be a local resident willing to commute to the office a few days a week or a full week when necessary. This is not a remote position
    • The candidate will need to undertake multiple rounds of interviews involving various stakeholders
    • Strong communication skills are essential for the role

    JobSummary
    The primary responsibilities of the person in this position involve the design, development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of IEEEs web applications and related processes. The individual will work on software application development for user interfaces, service APIs, backend design and development on Amazon cloud infrastructure, and other custom web applications.

    As a senior position, the incumbent will need to make independent design choices, present ideas to the team and stakeholders, guide the team in implementation, and participate in various activities such as requirement gathering, design discussions, and code reviews. Additionally, they will act as a Subject Matter Expert, leading efforts within projects and mentoring junior colleagues.

    This role reports to an IT Manager, serving as an individual contributor without direct reports management.

    KeyResponsibilities

    • Collaborates closely with the user community and key stakeholders to define requirements, translate them into technical specifications/design, and conduct design reviews with both user and technical personnel
    • Develops and maintains custom web applications (front-end and back-end) using cutting-edge web application/portal solutions, following industry best practices and responsive design techniques
    • Leads/contributes to programming projects from requirements definition through implementation and support, following Agile Scrum or other designated development methodology
    • Provides technical leadership in the development of solutions (UI & backend) to concerned teams and conducts necessary training sessions
    • Demonstrates problem-solving abilities to ensure effective and timely resolution of system issues, including production outages
    • Understands user-centered design principles, creates interaction specifications and functional prototypes, while developing mockups, wireframes, and layouts to enhance usability and optimize customer interaction with application features
    • Creates and maintains system analysis, design, and software architecture documentation, including proposals
    • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert in key areas of business and software systems
    • Performs impact analysis of application changes
    • Provides accurate estimates and deliverable dates to support project planning
    • Maintains the code base through refactoring and adopting newer, more efficient technologies and frameworks
    • Ensures high quality of deliverables by conducting unit testing, integration/system testing, regression testing, production validation, and post-production support
    • Prioritizes security best practices in all design and development activities, proactively identifying and addressing concerns
    • Stays updated on evolving technology trends, making recommendations for incorporating new technologies into the application stack
    • Mentors junior team members and promotes adherence to best practices in programming, testing, builds, and deployments
    • Works as an integral part of a dynamic and agile technical team
    • Collaborates closely with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and communicate technical design decisions and restrictions
    • Regularly reports progress and activity to project leaders and/or managers

    Qualifications

    Education

    A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field is preferred


    Requirements

    WorkExperience

    • 7-10 years of hands-on analysis and programming experience using Java, J2EE, and other user interface technologies
    • 5-7 years of hands-on analysis and programming experience in developing enterprise applications using software development frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate) and Java design patterns
    • 5-7 years of strong User Experience design skills and experience in hands-on development of Web 2.0 solutions using JavaScript toolkits (e.g., jQuery), AJAX, and UI frameworks like AngularJS or ReactJS

    LicensesandCertifications

    Preference for Java SE/Java EE Certification

    SkillsandRequirements

    • Minimum 5-7 years of analysis, design, and application development expertise
    • Hands-on experience with web application implementation using JavaScript (jQuery/Angular/ReactJS/NodeJS), HTML5, CSS3, Java, JEE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC technologies
    • Practical experience in developing web applications using RDBMS/SQL (e.g., MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
    • Strong skills in implementation and integration with web services (SOAP/REST based, JSON, XML)
    • Experience in designing and coding Microservices
    • Familiarity with Maven/Gradle Build Tool and logging
    • Knowledge of key AWS services for web application development and deployment
    • Understanding of web application operations, including security principles
    • Exposure to CI/CD process, DevOps, Jenkins, and toolchain
    • Proficiency in SCRUM Agile methodology, Object-Oriented, and MVC/MVVM programming models
    • Ability to collaborate within a team and with all levels of management, handling various stages of project lifecycle
    • Adept at working with evolving low-level designs
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective presentation of ideas to user community, stakeholders, and technical personnel
