    Description

    Your Role:

    At Daughter and Dad Coffee, we provide our customers with the highest-quality 'plant-based comfort food'. We expect our chef to be responsible for the planning, preparation, production and execution of simple vegan and vegetarian dishes, that are fresh, vibrant and full of flavour.

    Your Responsibilities:

    Food Production & Operations:

    • Be responsible for the planning and development of both a morning and evening menu.
    • Manage with confidence the daily production, preparation and presentation of all menu items.
    • Engage in clear and professional communication with food suppliers, placing food stock orders on time.
    • Conduct a daily and weekly stock inventory to monitor supplies, ensuring all food items are in date to reduce spoilage and wastage.
    • Be proactive in assisting management with menu costings and appropriate pricing.
    • Be proactive in assisting management with the gradual development of a professional kitchen, identifying equipment and utensils required for the kitchen area, requesting equipment quotations, and negotiating prices and delivery costs.
    • Carry out the daily opening and closing of the venue independently.

    Health & Safety:

    • Act as Person In Charge (PIC) during hours of operation and be responsible for all HACCP requirements.
    • Work independently to produce product specifications, food traceability and allergen documentation for each menu item.
    • Work collaboratively with management to assist in the development of cleaning checklists, and waste and pest management schedules.
    • Conduct daily temperature and equipment checks (i.e. freezers, fridges) reporting any faults directly to the manager.
    • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen and food preparation areas, completing daily and weekly cleaning checklists.

    Salary: Competitive depending on skills.

    Hours: Full-time, with Tuesdays off.

    Accommodation on-site, food and transportation are included in the package.
