    Description
    In order to fillthis role effectively, the successful candidate will need to have adiverse range of qualities, competencies and An IB MYP English andIndividual and Societies teacher should be an adaptable andinspiring educator, with the ability to deliver a coherent,integrated, broad, inquiry-based He/She should be an outstandingteacher, learner, motivator and communicator, with excellentinterpersonal skills, and should be capable of preparing studentsfor international programmes in a stimulating, challenging andwell-organised learning He/She should be able to provideprofessional expertise, high quality teaching and learning, makeeffective use of resources and ensure improved standards oflearning and achievement for all

    Requirements

    1Qualificationsand ISLQatar (also referred toastheSchool ) prefers people with:

    Qualified teacher status appropriate to the teaching duties to beundertaken (English, History, Geography,Econ, orBusiness)

    Experience of, and/or recent training in, IB MYP and DPprogrammes

    2Knowledgeand He/Sheshould:

    be aligned with the ISL values of diversity, passion, identity andunderstanding

    possess excellent communication skills and be willing to adapt tothe demands of an international school, in particular he/she shouldbe able to communicate effectively in English

    have a high level of understanding of current research as to howchildren learn and possess the ability to motivate students toperform at their best

    through differentiated instruction, and by using a variety ofstyles, be able to inspire mixed culture and ability classes, bycreating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for allstudents

    be able to support student needs in learning and pastoral matters

    be aware of the principles of Conceptual Learning and Assessmentfor Learning

    be adept and accomplished at teaching IB MYP subjects to studentsage 11-16 years

    have a high level of awareness of current developments in MYPsubject areas

    be able to participate fully in an expanding IB school and, inparticular, help to develop the team spirit within the specificsubject area

    To implement MYP policy and strategic plans

    To liaise with the IB MYP team and the curriculum leaders to ensureeffective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes,including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in theclassroom

    To participate in the design, development, implementation andreview of subject curriculum

    To participate in the design, development, implementation andreview of assessment and reporting systems

    To promote the health and safety of assigned classes

    To participate in professional development and contribute toregular staff training or meetings

    To encourage team spirit in the school and develop links withcolleagues across the School

    To contribute to community service and global citizenship goals

    To contribute to the extra-curricular activities programme of theSchool

    0To contribute to the development of a positive attitude betweenstaff and the wider community through cooperative relations,publications, competitions;
