    Description

    Key roles andresponsibilities:

    Provide support andparticipate in liaison with government authorities regardingdevelopment objectives

    policies andprocedures.

    Working from concept design throughto detailed design producing CAD drawingsgraphic

    presentations and design narratives tobudget and schedule.

    Working closely with theMaster Planners and design team to develop master plan urbanplanning and

    landscaping solution for varioustypes of project

    Interaction and communicationwith clients and consultants during the design phase and atpresentations

    Solves problems in connection withthe urban design and planning of large projects

    Assists in developing urban design and planning conceptincorporating site planning landscapeplanning

    transportation and infrastructuresystems

    Assists with the preparation of completedesign documents on major projects

    Coordinateswork with the project team

    Responsible forvarious portions of master plan and site plan development documentsteam working on

    assigned tasks within aproject

    Solves complex problems in connectionwith the urban design and planning of largeprojects

    Develops urban design and planningconcept incorporating site planning landscapeplanning

    transportation and infrastructuresystems

    Establishes weekly meeting to reviewproject status and formulate action items.

    Performs other responsibilities associated with this position asmay be appropriate.

    Develop narratives on landuse context concept and detailed maps including SWOTanalysis.

    Team work and collaboration within ateam/dedication to meet client deadlines

    Managescoordinates and leads smaller less complex projects independentlywith less oversight. May

    lead smaller projectclient meetings and take ownership of report structure andcontent.

    Coordinates teams to prepare projectsdeliverables and applicable planning authoritiesrequirements

    and coordinate with variousdisciplines technical input and output into a project or aproposal.

    Initiates and drives innovativeapproaches to efficient project delivery. E.g. improved siteanalysis

    assessment or site planning duediligence and highlevel developer assessment.

    Prepares/reviews and understands datasets to correlate populationprojections against market demands

    andsupply.

    Prepares Methodology for small scaleproposals without direct supervision and able to understandand

    carry out the necessary internal processes toobtain approvals for proposal submission.

    Leadsspecialty topics / interests in urban planning e.g. wellnessplanning / placemaking

    Up to date with thecurrent industry trends approaches tools andmethods

    The candidate must possessexpertise/experience in the following domains:

    Proven leadership capability.

    Bachelors degreein Urban Planning and design urban policy sustainable developmentor equivalent.

    Masters degreepreferred.

    10 years of related urban planning /master planning experience is required

    Professional membership such as RTPI AICP PIA CIP SIP or equivalentpreferred.

    Incumbent should have a broad generaltechnical and business background such as experiencein

    developing city visioning theming andbenchmarking.

    Experience in policy developmentand governance is a plus.

    Experience of planningthe MENA region especially in the GCC area.

    Goodknowledge of data collection and research capabilities and abilityto analyze qualitative and

    quantitativedata.

    Has solid understanding of various scaleof planning projects and determine differencesand

    requirements and communicateseffectively.

    Thorough understanding of local andinternational practice and test standards for Urbanplanning.

    Has the ability to carry out baselineassessment analyse various data and develop criteria forthe

    assessment of master plans

    Has the ability to develop implementation and phasingplanning

    Has sound understanding of planning /environmental governance and policy and cancommunicate

    planning / environmental governanceand policy and make recommendations to clients whererelevant.

    Software requirements include indesignAdobe photoshop MS office (excel word powerpoint).

    Strong eye for detail coupled with amethodical and organized approach;

    You will be aforwardthinking individual ready to change the status quo and bringfresh ideas to the

    team on how we can manage anddeliver our projects.

    Exceptional verbal andwritten communication skills will be well utilised and your abilityto develop

    internal and external workingrelationships is essential.
