    Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Melt Shop Manager to join our team. As the Melt Shop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire melt shop operations, ensuring the efficient and effective production of molten metal for our forging and casting processes. You will be responsible for managing a team of skilled technicians and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity are met.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the melt shop, including the melting and pouring of metals, furnace operations, and related processes.
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient production.
    • Monitor and control the melting process parameters, such as temperature, alloy composition, and melt quality, to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
    • Optimize the use of raw materials and energy resources to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
    • Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of equipment, including furnaces, ladles, and other related machinery.
    • Lead and motivate a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance and productivity.
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Production, to ensure seamless integration of melt shop operations with downstream processes.
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
    • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the metal casting or forging industry.
    • Strong knowledge of melt shop operations, including melting, pouring, and related processes.
    • Familiarity with different types of furnaces, ladles, and other melt shop equipment.
    • Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in using relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
