- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the cast shop, including casting, melting, and related processes.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient production.
- Plan and schedule cast shop activities to meet production targets and customer requirements.
- Monitor and control casting parameters, such as temperature, alloy composition, and mold design, to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
- Optimize the use of resources, including manpower, furnaces, and materials, to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of equipment, such as furnaces, ladles, and molds, to ensure optimal performance.
- Lead and motivate a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance and productivity.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Production, to ensure seamless integration of cast shop operations with upstream and downstream processes.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the metal casting or forging industry.
- Strong knowledge of cast shop operations, including casting techniques, melting processes, and related procedures.
- Familiarity with a variety of casting methods, such as sand casting, investment casting, and die casting.
- Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
