    Description
    • Supporting internal controls over financial reporting (ICOFR) in alignment with OMB Circular A-123 for various financial and business process areas including Property, Plant, and Equipment (PP&E)
    • Supporting the creation and implementation of corrective action plans and broader strategies to address internal control and audit deficiencies as well as enhance financial processes
    • Offering a wide range of financial statement audit and audit risk management and remediation assistance that align with the agency's objectives to maintain a clear audit opinion and enhance internal controls
    • Evaluating the influence of new guidelines on financial operations and assisting in the adoption of these guidelines when relevant
    • More broadly, this team member will be involved in a diverse range of project-specific tasks covering various consulting capabilities, such as:
      • Utilizing a variety of analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills and techniques
      • Documenting and assessing business processes and providing recommendations for process enhancements
      • Generating different types of communications, from informal email interactions with clients to formal memos, issue papers, presentations, executive briefings, and other forms
      • Conducting research to address client issues and collaborating with the team to develop solutions
      • Assisting clients in analyzing projects and programs to identify risks, as well as developing, applying, and monitoring mitigations
      • Supporting clients in collecting and analyzing data, creating models and visualizations, and deriving insights from the data to enhance decision-making
      • Analyzing and contributing to the development or enhancement of policies and procedures for various programs and operational requirements
    • Besides client-facing tasks, this role will support important activities that contribute to the growth of the business, reinforce internal operations at Guidehouse, and maintain a positive work environment for all employees. Some of these activities include but are not limited to:
      • Assisting in business development initiatives, such as identifying potential client needs, developing proposals and white papers, participating in client and internal account meetings, and more
      • Engaging in Guidehouse's coaching and mentoring programs for staff
      • Contributing to the development of learning materials, courses, and presentations to help employees expand and strengthen their skills
      • Supporting Guidehouse programs and efforts to recruit top talent to the company

    Requirements:

    • US Citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a relevant financial field
    • THREE (3) years of Financial Management experience, including at least one of the following:
      • Reviewing property, plant, and equipment supporting documentation
      • Knowledge of financial statement audit standards
      • Experience in responding to audit requests

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proven expertise in advising federal clients on financial reporting and complying with related federal guidelines such as OMB Circular A-136, the GAO Green Book, the CFO Act of 1990, FMFIA, TFM, and GAO/PCIE Financial Audit Manual
    • Demonstrated ability to implement innovative solutions to meet evolving organizational needs, bringing creativity and collaboration to working with financial systems
    • Experience in Federal audit support, audit liaison, corrective action planning, and executing remediation with a focus on internal controls over financial reporting and financial statement assertions
    • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting and familiarity with Federal financial accounting standards and the USSGL
    • Knowledge of Federal financial management, accounting, and budgetary processes
    • CPA certification
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree
