    Description

    The role will executesecurity responsibilities for one or more complex Security workstreams in order to protect BAE Systems/BSL, its people,infrastructure, information and assets, as well as the interests ofits shareholders and customers, and to fulfil regulatory and legalobligations.
    This role profile typically requires an individual with anextensive securitybackground.

    The roleholder may be required to carry out additional or alternative tasksfrom time to time, subject to holding the appropriatequalifications. Experience across the all the Security Disciplines(Physical/Operational/Personnel and Cyber/Information) isrequired.

    Therole holder must be capable of holding a UK Security Clearance atSECRET Level(SC).

    CoreActivity:
    • Overseesecurity tasks and coordinate security services based on relevantpolicies, standards, procedures and best practices of the assignedworkstream(s)
    • SupportDevelopment of Operational Security Policies and Proceduresensuring the Qatar business is aligned to Group and Air Securitypolicy
    • Assessthe adequacy of the security measures within their business area toensure that policies and procedures are up-to-date and take accountofdevelopments
    • Actas a central point of contact for Security compliance queries andissues, providing definitive guidance andinstruction
    • Monitorperformance of staff in order to ensure that work is carried outefficiently andeffectively
    • Overseethe readiness of their team s response to security incidents.Ensure suitable incident plans are produced andrehearsed
    • Conductand review security assessments and define operational requirementsfor the assigned work stream to protect criticalassets
    • Assurethe integrity of BAE/BSL employees working in the assigned businessarea by assessing personnel security and access control processesandprocedures
    • Productionand maintenance of Security Risk Registers ensuring they align toAir Sectorpolicy
    • Providesecurity advice and guidance to the business group internal andexternal stakeholders and make recommendations to improve securitysolutions for the workstream
    • Buildeffective relationships and coordination with key local functions,Qatari Customer, QEAF base Security representatives, BritishEmbassy, UK Based Security Teams and businessrepresentatives
    • Influencethe security culture by raising security awareness among employeesand management in the local area and modelling behaviors thatdemonstrate BAE Systemsvalues
    • Delivercross functional peer to peer assurance as part of a One Team AirSectorapproach
    • Carryout regular Operational reviews to ensure the objectives of thecentral security intelligence & operational supportresponsibilities are being met andmaintained
    • Providereports, intelligence and an overview of the on base securityclimate to the HoS Air (UK) and Head of Operational Security Air(UK) along with liaison with the Head of Cyber Security(UK)
    • Ensurerequirements for Cryptographic management of UK HMG MoD andcustomer cryptographic keys and infrastructure are adheredto.
    • Directthe annual document muster ensuring any PMM failings are identifiedto the Head of Operational Security(UK)
    • Ensureand Assure compliance with all Protectively Marked Material (PMM)mandates regarding creation, retention, storage transportation,access anddestruction
    • Produce,maintain and delivery Security Threat Briefings to Staff andvisitors
    • Conduct,on behalf of the Air Security Investigations Team, local securityinvestigations
    • Workwith IM&T to ensure all Information and Cyber Securityrequirements are captured andactioned


    Requirements

    • Demonstratestechnical knowledge and skills reflective of a security SQEPpractitioner who has progressed within security positions ofincreasingresponsibility
    • Thoroughknowledge of BAE Systems security policies andprocedures
    • Knowledgeapproaches to security management including physical, personnel,information, cyber and operationalsecurity
    • Experience of security riskmanagement techniques
    • Experience ofsecurity systems, manned guarding and incident responseprinciples
    • Good understanding ofgovernment and industry security standards and best practiceguidance
    • Experience of deliveringsecurity management and protecting high value assets and working inhigh riskenvironments
    • Developedcommunications skills required due to the nature of the work inSecurity often handling sensitive employee data, highly classifiedGovernment Information and awkward contacts
    • Tactand diplomacy required to reach a suitable outcome with a clientfocused attitude whilst maintaining the highest ethical andbehavioral standards of BAE.
    • Goodcustomerrelationships
    • In-depthknowledge of HMG and industry standard security policy, standardsand good practice guidance
    • Holisticapproach to security, ideally with knowledge in Cyber/InfoSecurity
    • Goodlevel of English, written &verbal
    • Experienceof operating in the Middle Eastdesirable.
    • Typicallycollege educated, however relevant operational experience will betaken intoaccount.
    • Jobrequires an understanding of how own tasks and duties impact othersin the team and the overallbusiness
    • Jobrequires an understanding of how the team coordinates their effortsto achieve the overall objectives of the SecurityFunction
    • Thejob holder is required to understand the roles &responsibilities of all of their immediate team members, includingthe Customer, to help them understand how working as a team helpthem achieve overall functionalobjectives
