    Zentech Consulting is hiring afull time Certified Surgical Technologist inOrlando,FL.

    JOBSUMMARY

    TheCertified Surgical Technologist (CST) is responsible for theinstruments, supplies, and equipment required for surgicalprocedure. Prior to procedures, the CST prepares the necessarysupplies according to the needs of the surgeon for the case. TheCST also monitors the PAR levels of all instruments during theoperation and focuses on preserving the sterilefield.

    JOBDESCRIPTION

    Collects supplies needed for surgical procedure and checks toensure quality
    Performs thesurgical scrub; dons gown andgloves
    Prepares instruments forprocedure using steriletechniques
    Performs initialinstrument, sharps and sponge counts with theteam
    Assists team with gowningand gloving
    Assists with thedraping of the patient and establishing the sterilefield
    Secures tubing, cords, andother sterile accessories
    Anticipates and prepares any additional supplies that may berequired during the procedure
    Foresees the needs of the surgeon and passes instruments/suppliesduring procedure as needed
    Measures and passes medications, hemostatic agents and irrigationsolutions used during procedure
    Holds retractors or instruments asdirected
    Coordinates the cameraor changes out robotic arms/instruments during endoscopic surgeryas directed
    Maintains higheststandard of sterile technique during theprocedure
    Performs additionalcounts when required
    Preparessterile dressings and/or immobilizationdevices
    Prepares and passes ofspecimen(s) as appropriate
    Cleansand prepares instruments for terminalsterilization
    Assists team withterminal cleaning of room
    Assistsin prepping the OR for nextpatient
    Participate in debriefingand quality improvement plans to ensure quality patientcare

    JOBREQUIREMENTS
    High School graduate orequivalent
    Graduate of approvedSurgical Technologist School withcertification
    Current BasicCardiac Life SupportCertification

    KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS ANDABILITIES
    Relevant knowledge of surgicalprocedures, techniques, and patientcare
    Knowledge of HIPAA andcompliance policies
    Stronganalytical skills and technical skills relating to OR prep; abilityto respond to needs as they arise in theOR
    Ability to read andcommunicate effectively in English. Additional languagespreferred.
    Ability to communicatein a professional manner able to counsel/teach customers, trainco-workers, and positively contribute to marketing/publicrelations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaintsfrom patients, regulatory agencies, or members of the medical andbusiness community.
    Proficientcomputer skills- ability to accurately update and manage andelectronic healthcarerecord

    HOURSAND WORKINGCONDITIONS

    The ASCs are open Monday thru Friday with hours of operationsubject to change, dependent on surgeryschedule.

    Hazards:
    Occasionalcontact with communicable diseases, electrical equipment, bloodborne pathogens, etc.

    Personalprotective equipment:
    Sterile OR scrubs and PPE areprovided
