- Design and development of road infrastructure projects, including feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed designs, and preparation of technical specifications.
- Conduct engineering assessments, analyse data, and evaluate road conditions to identify and recommend appropriate design solutions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate road design with other infrastructure elements, including but not limited to drainage, utilities, and landscaping.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards throughout road project design and construction phases.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and technical support to facilitate their professional development.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to effectively communicate project requirements, resolve technical issues, and address any concerns.
- Monitor project progress, review design changes, and manage risks to ensure successful project delivery.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates, contributing to the development of proposals and bids.
- Stay updated with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices in road engineering, and apply this knowledge to enhance project outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A postgraduate degree will be an advantage.
- Professional engineering accreditation (, Chartered Engineer status) from a recognized institution is an advantage
- Proven experience in designing and managing road infrastructure projects, preferably within an engineering consultancy environment.
- Proficient in relevant software tools and design packages, such as AutoCAD, Civil D, and road design software (, MX Road, OpenRoads).
- In-depth knowledge of Middle East road design standards, regulations, and construction practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex engineering challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent project management abilities, including the capacity to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and allocate resources effectively.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
