    Stantec is currently looking for aCivil Inspector to join our dynamic team and support on aconstruction supervision project in Abu Dhabi.

    Purpose:

    • Ensure complianceof civil / infrastructure works to design requirementsspecifications and project plan.

    Responsibilities:

    • Inspecting site conditions prior to start of constructionactivities. Verifying the compatibility of the site with thedesigned permanent works. Checking for obstructions. Photograph anddocument the condition of existing property that might be damagedby the work. Making sure all existing structures property utilitiesand landscaping are properly protected.
    • Reviewing materials delivered to site forconformance with approved samples materials and equipment andreport findings.
    • Checking that materials delivered to site are properlystored and report discrepancies.

    Inspecting the construction of temporary and permanent works toensure compliance with the Contract Documents and approved shopdrawings and submittals. Preparing daily logs and reports. Maintainrecords of inspections made tests performed work executed etc.Performing all work in accordance with the Contract AdministrationProcedures Manual.

    • Observing sitesafety practices and the progress of the work. Reporting anyconcerns.
    • Assistingwith the inspection of completed works. Helping prepare punchlists. Monitoring the startup testing commissioning and handover ofthe works.
    • Perform allother duties given by direct manager.
    • Observes work in progress to ensure thatprocedures are followed and materials used confirm tospecifications.
    • Ensuresthat proper safety procedures are followed in cooperation with theHealth & Safety Engineer.
    • Takes samples of various materials tests and calls fortesting as required.
    • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operationsdecrease turnaround times streamline work processes and workcooperatively and jointly to provide a quality streamlineservice

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or StructuralEngineering or equivalent degree in Engineering from a recognizedinstitute to the approval of the Engineer.
    • Must have 5 years of work experience in theconstruction and supervision of buildings works
    • Experience in Survey work withmodern instruments and in keeping site measurementrecords.
    • Solidexperience in maintaining relevant records and generatingreports
