TheRochester Tax practice at Insero is not a high volume 1040 practicebut is instead a tax practice focusing on complex tax complianceand projects within Fortune 500 companies as well as tax consultingacross small and middle market companies including: multi-state,multi-national, real estate, manufacturing (amongst otherindustries) ; Majority of our small business clients are in the1-10 million sales volume and middle market practice are closelyheld businesses in the 20 million 200 million+ sales volume many ofwhich have global and multi state

One wouldwork directly with our Tax Mangers/Principals & Many of ourlarger clients were formerly served by the Big 4 and over 60% ofour Tax revenue is consulting services; tax planning, R&D,SALT, Cost Segs, and tax provision

Responsibilities:

Preparingdifficult business

Reviews tax returns/workfiles for completeness, accuracy and compliance; communicates withand trains staff on areas needing

Monitors tax deadlines toensure that returns are prepared on a timely basis; communicateswith managers during the preparation process to identify any taxissues needing addressing and to pull jobs so that they reach thetechnical review stage

Performs tax research andhelps train staff to do the same; schedules annual tax researchtraining session for all tax

Understanding and completingthe steps in conducting research projects; preparing writtenconclusions, subject to Manager or Principal

Assisting audit andaccounting staff with non-complex tax

Understanding tax

Responding to routine IRS orstate tax

Traininginterns/staff to be able to prepare effective responses to taxnotices and reviews for accuracy and supervising workflow of TaxAccountants/Interns on less complex

Identifying problems andopportunities for research or work other than

*Depending on ones Taxexperience and area of interest, you could have the opportunity towork in the following areas:

-Preparation and/orreview of complex corp/business tax returns and the individualshareholders returns

-ASC 740 - accountingfor income tax (FAS 109 work)

-Transactional worksuch as acquisitions & divestitures

-TaxResearch

-Corporateinternational tax - transactions with foreign entities

-Identifying taxsavings strategies forclients

Requirements

Bachelorsdegree (Masters in Tax is a plus) in accounting is A CPA license isa plus; along with a minimum of 3 years tax experience working in apublic accounting Qualified candidates will have experience withall different entity Ideal tax experience servicing middle marketand/or large company clients with a background in Partnerships, SCorporations, and C ; A minimum of an additional 2 yearssenior/supervisory experience is required for asupervisor/management level Candidates must be proactive in taxplanning A proven record of building sustainable client Have aworking knowledge of Paperless systems such as GoFileRoom and taxsoftware such as ProSystems or Have a professional demeanor withexcellent communication Enjoy working with people and understandthe importance of nurturing and building the firms Be ethical,conscientious, detail oriented, and well
