    Education Manager - Dubai, United Arab Emirates - GEMS Education

    JobPurpose

    Responsibilitiesof this role is to maintain and enhance the organization s HumanResources and Safety by planning, implementing and evaluatingpolicies, programs andpractices.

    EssentialFunctions

    HumanResourcesFunctions:

    • Maintainsthe work structure by updating job requirements and jobdescriptions for allpositions.
    • Maintainsorganization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing andinterviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection;conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommendingchanges.
    • Preparesemployees for assignments by establishing and conductingorientation and trainingprograms.
    • Maintainsa pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling andconducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring andscheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning andimplementing pay structurerevisions.
    • Ensuresplanning, monitoring and appraisal of employee work results bytraining managers to coach and discipline employees; schedulingmanagement conferences with employees; hearing and resolvingemployee grievances; counseling employees andsupervisors.
    • Maintainsemployee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits bystudying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommendingbenefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefitclaims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awardingbenefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs onbenefitprograms.
    • Ensureslegal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable humanresource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations;maintaining records; representing the organization athearings.
    • Maintainsmanagement guidelines by preparing, updating and recommending humanresource policies andprocedures.
    • Maintainshistorical human resource records by designing a filing andretrieval system; keeping past and currentrecords.
    • Maintainsprofessional and technical knowledge by attending educationalworkshops; reviewing professional publications; establishingpersonal networks; participating in professionalsocieties.
    • Completeshuman resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigningemployees, following up on workresults.
    • Maintainshuman resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting andtrainingemployees.
    • Maintainshuman resource staff job results by counseling and discipliningemployees; planning, monitoring and appraising jobresults.
    • Contributesto team effort by accomplishing related results asneeded.

    PayrollFunctions:

    • Serveas backup to the controller regarding all payrollresponsibilities.
    • Overseepaperless time-keeping system foremployees.
    • Reviewtimecards for accuracy prior to each payrollrun.
    • Updateemployee files with new wages, PTO, deductions and withholding asnecessary.
    • Downloadpre-posting and post-posting payroll reports and save to payrollrunfile.
    • Stayup to date on payroll law and inform management ofchanges.

    SafetyManagerFunctions:

    Asa safety manager you must have excellent attention to detail toidentify hazards. You will also be able to discover opportunitiesfor improving conditions and execute various safety programs. Theability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforceisessential.Thegoal is to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations andactively supports occupational health andsafety.
    • Developand execute health and safety plans in the workplace according tolegalguidelines.
    • Prepareand enforce policies to establish a culture of health andsafety.
    • Evaluatepractices, procedures ad facilities to assess risk and adherence tothelaw.
    • Conducttraining and presentations for health and safety matters andaccidentprevention.
    • Monitorcompliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees andoperations.
    • Inspectequipment and machinery to observe possible unsafeconditions.
    • Investigateaccidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker scompensationclaims.
    • Recommendsolutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new preventionmeasures.
    • Reporton health and safety awareness, issues andstatistics


    Qualifications
    • Provenexperience as an HR and Safety Manager, minimum of (5) or moreyears of progressive human resources experience in non-unionmanufacturing environment,required.
    • Workingknowledge and proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Officeprograms, including Word, Excel, Power Point andAccess.
    • Deepunderstanding of legal, health and safetyguidelines
    • Abilityin producing reports and developing relevantpolicies.
    • Goodknowledge of data analysis and riskassessment
    • Excellentorganizational and motivationalskills
    • Outstandingattention to detail and observationability
    • Exceptionalcommunication and interpersonalabilities
    • BS/BAin Human Resources or relevant field ispreferred.
    • Validqualification in occupational health andsafety

    WorkingConditions:
