    Core Purpose:

    The purpose of the role ofTeaching Assistant is to provide support to the students and theclass teachers of the school inside and outside of the classroom.They assist the teacher in providing in class support for childrenwith their work along with other tasks of a more generalnature.

    MainResponsibilities:

    Requirements and duties:

    • Contributes appropriately with lesson planning andassessment processes including the organization and management ofbooks/files for individual children.
    • Prepares materials or equipment for classlessons group work or for individual children.
    • Leads & assists groups ofchildren or individuals with their tasks.
    • Reads stories to groups ofchildren.
    • Prepares anyICT equipment (for example: computers iPad digital camera DVD BeeBot etc.).
    • Accompanieschildren on visits.
    • Comforts young distressed and vulnerable children inaccordance with safeguarding procedures.
    • Prepares Art and Craft materials and/or tidythem away.
    • Mounts anddisplays childrens work appropriately.
    • Supervises children using the cloakroom(toilet)/playtimes/start time and home times especially attransition times.
    • Labels and stores equipment appropriately.
    • Laminates and/or photocopymaterials/resources.
    • Take part on a daily basis in the Rota which providessupervision in the playground at playtimes and supervise attransition times especially at start time and home time
    • Maintains confidentiality aboutpersonal details revealed by the children
    • Reports incidents to Teacher and or Head ofEarly Years in accordance with the Safeguarding Policy
    • Maintains and promotes the Schoolsprofessional reputation.

    Bus Supervisor (When applicable)

    • Transportchildren to school by pickingup children at assigned stops;instructing children when it is safe to board the vehicle;established loading and unloading procedures
    • Maintains safe conditions whiletraveling by enforcing safety and discipline rules and followingall vehicle and driving laws as outlined by the School &DoT
    • Complete daily allpreand posttrip inspections for safety and security by inspectingand documenting the vehicle logs prior to completing daily shift.
    • Implement emergencyplan in the event of an accident; appropriately administer to theneeds of the members onboard administer firstaid and completeaccident report and documentation for all accidents or incidentsthat occur in the bus.
    • Take daily attendance of students
    • Physically check the bus after every trip tobe sure that no child is left behind
    • Provide assistance to students in fasteningtheir seatbelts and ensure that they are properly strapped inthroughout the journey. Insures all students are seated at alltimes on the bus
    • Oversee student behavior within the bus and interveneduring untoward incidents such as bullying
    • Reports any delays in pickup/drop off toparents
    • Prepare reportssuch as attendance schedules and student

    Health and Safety

    • Emphasizes the importance of safety in all areas of thecurriculum communicating to the pupils the importance of aresponsible attitude towards personal safety the safety of othersand respect for Aspen Heights British Schools property andequipment
    • Perform allplayground duties on time and with due diligence to safeguard Aspenstudents
    • Take allnecessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipmentmaterials and facilities
    • Assist in implementing all policies and rules governingstudent life and conduct
    • Ensure that all the necessary health and safety rules andprocedures are being followed
    • Maintain an awareness of all the health and safetymeasures to be taken when in school

    Minimum Educational Qualifications Required for the Role
