    Description

    EssentialResponsibilities

    • Acts as a consultant for quality,AR&L, risk, patient safety, and infection preventionactivities and programs.
    • Assists with qualitymanagement studies through data collection, data input and reportdevelopment.
    • Analyzes, interprets and providesrecommendation based on qualityprinciples.
    • Organize and coordinate projectplanning, group process facilitation, training, and appropriateapplication of information technology.
    • Reportsall occurrences which may lead to medical center liability andfollows up as necessary.
    • Facilitatesinterdisciplinary collaboration for implementation of evidencebased guidelines, criteria and other clinical tools to reducevariation in clinical practice and to optimize clinicaloutcomes.
    • Educates physicians and staffregarding regional projects or regulatory reviews, i.e. theinterpretation of regulatory requirements and the methods ofcompliance when preparing for a review or the interpretation ofproject goals.
    • Analyzes risk management/patientsafety principles and provides recommendations for theincorporation of risk management principles in each medicalcenter.
    • Provides support services toappropriate medical center staff in implementing risk managementprinciples into credentialingprocesses.
    • Participates in special projects asassigned, such as statistical reports for state, federal, and localagencies.
    • Applies the appropriate performanceimprovement methodology to address improvement opportunity (eg.MFI, Lean DMAIC).
    • May support infectionprevention and control activities.
    • Supportsmaintenance of IC records and policy/procedure manual reviews andrevisions.
    • Supports the medical centerscontinuous survey readiness program to maintain compliance withregulatory standards.

    Experience

    BasicQualifications:

    • Minimum three (3) years of combinedexperience in quality, risk management, patient safety, infectionprevention, accreditation/regulation, licensing or operationalclinical leadership in a healthcare setting.

    Education

    • Bachelors degree in nursing, businessadministration, economics, health care administration, operationresearch, public health administration, or other relatedfield.

    License,Certification, Registration

    • Registered Nurse License (California)required at hire

    AdditionalRequirements

    • CIC certificate required within three(3) years, if primary job focus is InfectionControl.
    • Must be able to work in aLabor/Management Partnership environment.

    PreferredQualifications

    • Minimum of three (3) years experienceworking in quality operations in an acute caresetting.
    • Quality/ Risk/Patient Safety/JustCulture/Project Management/Lean/IPcertification.
    • Masters degreepreferred.
