    Description
    • Manage the legal function inrelation to all business activities within the Region undersupervision of the GCC Regional Legal Director and in coordinationand collaboration with the Regional CEO and CountryMangers.
    • Raise legal and regulatoryconsiderations at an early stage, and set realistic expectationsfor timelines and costs, while also providing practicalsolutions.
    • Plan, manage and address legal andcompliance risk related to regionalprojects.
    • Assist business to prevent, navigate,and resolve complex legal issues.
    • Report to theGCC Regional Legal Director and Region's stakeholders, onregular basis or as needed, any updates on applicable laws andregulations that could possibly have an impact on thebusiness.
    • Provide transactional corporate legalsupport.
    • Advise, review and negotiatecommercial contract matters, which includes input on riskassessment, alignment with the company'spolicies.
    • Manage communication and negotiationswith several Postal Authorities and other regulatory bodies andassociations in the designated geography in relation to licensingand regulatory laws affecting core business of thecompany.
    • Manage and support continuous mattersby way of research and analysis of relevant laws, argumentdevelopment, evidence collection, and legal representation, anddraft effective and practical legal opinions accordingly. Maintainup-to-date record of all litigation cases and generate regularstatus reports.
    • Provide legal and complianceassessment related to new products, services, orinitiatives.
    • Effectively manage therelationship with external lawyers in the Region. This includesreporting to the GCC Regional Legal Director on all legal expensesin the Region, ensuring optimization and cost efficiency, andregularly negotiate and update retainer agreements with externallawyers as agreed and approved by the GCC Regional LegalDirector.
    • Build relationships with internalstakeholders.

    Qualifications

    • Educationand Certification: must have a law degree from anaccredited law school and must be licensed to practice law in thestate or jurisdiction where they work. A master's degreein law from the UK, the US, Canada, France or Australia is aplus.
    • Experience:minimum of 8 years' PQE experience practicing law in acommercial or corporate setting, preferably with experience in thetransportation and logistics industry orsector.
    • LegalKnowledge: in-depth knowledge of laws andregulations of the Region related to commercial transactions,including contract law, corporate law, intellectual property law,employment law, and other relatedareas.
    • Communication andNegotiation Skills: must have strong communicationand negotiation skills to effectively advise clients, negotiatecontracts, and resolve disputes. Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills in English andArabic.
    • Analytical andProblem-Solving Skills: must possess stronganalytical and problem-solving skills to identify legal issues,evaluate risks, and provide effective legal solutions to clients.Approachable, team player, detail and resultsorients
    • BusinessAcumen: good understanding of business and industrypractices and should be able to provide legal advice that isaligned with the business objectives of internal and externalstakeholders.
    • Attention toDetail: must have strong attention to detail toreview and analyze legal documents, contracts, and other legalmaterial.
    • EthicalStandards: must adhere to high ethical standards anduphold the confidentiality of company and clientinformation.
