    Principal Procurement Specialist - Dubai, United Arab Emirates - McDermott International, Ltd

    Description

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Embraces and promotes the company's HSE requirements and culture
    • Leads the project procurement efforts and serves as the focal point for client interactions
    • Prepares contract documents and bidders list, actively seeks and qualifies new potential bidders
    • Assembles and distributes requests for quotation from vendors
    • Responsible for purchasing materials and services within or below estimate using procurement processes while meeting schedule requirements
    • Conducts bid evaluations and issues purchase orders for complex packages or commodities
    • Negotiates high-value purchase orders for regional and international purchases
    • Assists in the evaluation, award, and compliance processes
    • Handles large claim or dispute events with vendors
    • Solicits budgetary pricing for equipment, materials, or labor to support estimating/proposal efforts
    • Represents the department in meetings with other functions and management
    • Provides leadership training and guidance to junior staff
    • Acts as the lead buyer for projects
    • Recommends, supports, and implements improvements to tools, systems, and software for enhanced efficiency
    • Preferred Experience: EPC Industry
    • Requirements: 15+ years industry experience and 10+ years in Supply Chain
    • BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Technical/Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
