- Contributeto the development of action plans and workstreams to implementMIGAs guarantee business and targets with a focus on originationproduct development deal execution andinnovation;
- Identify new business opportunitiesfor MIGA in MEE including using various trust funds among otherbusiness development tools;
- Provide aspecialized focus on business development and origination in FCScountries in MEE and develop and implement strategies forsubsectors and priority areas such as climatemitigation;
- Work with sector managersUnderwriters and project and portfolio teams to facilitate projectanalysis and provide political risk insurance underwriting andbusiness origination work including qualitycontrol;
- Conduct project due diligence thatincludes evaluating financing structure of projects as well asreviewing legal documents and financialmodels;
- Ensure consistency of MIGAs guaranteeswith WBG Country Partnership Framework and assess projects risks inview of MIGAs standards;
- Meet with prospectiveclients to market MIGAs guarantee products as well as with MIGApartners to better understand the market for PRI in priorityareas;
- Develop client/ project leads; guideclients through the application process; structure project dealsand transactions provide highlevel client relationship management;working with MIGA underwriters as needed when a new application isreceived to facilitate the underwriting of a transaction and toensure excellent client service; developing and maintainingpartnerships with regional DFIs and other likeminded institutionsinvolved in foreign investment in MEE;
- Managerelationships with Host Government and Host Government Officials incountries identified as MIGAs prioritymarkets;
- Represent MIGA at highlevelconferences or other events where MIGA desires to market itsservices and products; overseeing sponsorship at such events whereneeded;
- Collaborate with other units withinMIGA IFC and the WBG to deliver high level business results with aparticular focus on WB/IFC regionalstaff;
- Mentor/supervise junior underwritersanalysts and other staff to develop their professional andtechnical expertise;
- Share knowledge andexpertise and develop MIGAs marketing materials forprojects; Frequent travel is required to

- Masters degree ininternational Business Finance Economics or related field plus aminimum of 8 years of direct relevant experience in political riskunderwriting project finance or private sector work in emergingmarkets;
- Experience working with MIGA isdesirable;
- Extensive knowledge of emergingmarkets finance and economic development as well as anunderstanding of issues related to investment insurance and foreigndirect investments in emerging markets;
- Soundfinancial analysis skills including experience analyzing andstructuring projects;
- Demonstrated high leveltechnical underwriting skills and proven track record in handlingcomplex project risk underwriting and/or project and corporatefinance;
- Demonstrated highlevel understandingof political / sovereign risk guarantee products and theirapplication in the project and export finance bankingfields;
- Experience in working acrossboundaries; and in joint project ventures with key multilateral andbilateral institutions;
- Strong clientorientation diplomatic skills as well as sensitivity to social andcultural issues as they affect multilateral risk mitigation andinvestors going into developingcountries;
- Proven track record in deliveringhigh quality work results;
- Experience inguiding mentoring and coaching staff on technical and businessissues;
- Outstanding communication skills; ableto make persuasive oral and writtenpresentations;
- High degree of discretion ethicstack and sensitivity in handling confidential and sensitiveinformation; ability to maintain high standard of personalintegrity;

Recognizing theneed for MIGA to be closer to prospective new clients MIGAestablished its Middle East Hub (a small team) in West Bank& Gaza based in Jerusalem empowered to originate newbusiness opportunities for MIGA in Middle East and Egypt in supportof MIGAs focus areas. MIGAs Operations unit (MIGOP) is now expandingits Middle East Hub by opening an office in Dubai United ArabEmirates and is seeking a Senior Business Development Officer withextensive political risk underwriting new business origination andclient relationship management experience to head the Middle East& Egypt region (MEE) in identifying new businessopportunities achieving business targets and growing MIGAsguarantee business. The position will be based in Dubai andsupervised by the Director Operations.
