    Description
    • Develop and monitor processes forthe review and timely submission of grant and contract proposals tofunding agencies.
    • Identify issues in pre-awardworkflows, provides recommendations to SPA leadership forresolution, and works with the appropriate offices forimplementation of solutions.
    • Collaborate withother institutional offices to develop and maintainresources/programs to support researchers with the development andwriting of quality grant proposals.
    • Assist inthe review of proposed cost-share commitments, Facilities andAdministrative (F&A) waivers, and other requests and makerecommendation for approval ornon-approval.
    • Develop and maintain performancemetrics for pre-award activities.
    • Track grantand contract proposals, collect and share proposal data with SPAleadership and Vice President of ResearchOperations.
    • Serve as subject matter expert oncomplex applications and sponsorregulations.
    • Provide guidance, technicalexpertise, and training to Research Administrators and PrincipalInvestigators on complex pre-award and contractual sponsoredproject compliance matters such as budgeting, cost allowability, PIand other key personnel eligibility andchanges.
    • Serve as the pre-award lead andSignature Official for institutional, cross-departmentapplications, e.g. Mass Life Sciences (MLSC), PCORI, or ProgramProject Grants, to ensure institutional objectives are clearlycommunicated and incorporated into the proposal/budget, plus anyinstitutional support requirements are committed and appropriatelydocumented, coordinating with assigned Research Administrators asappropriate. Provide project management support for the initialset-up and administration of theseawards
    • Collaborate with the Chief AcademicOfficer's office to manage the process for notification,review, and submission of limited submission grants as well as anyinternal institutional grantopportunities.
    • Collaborate with the RAPITDirector in preparing templates and other resource documents toassist Research Administration teams and Principal Investigatorswith various components of grant and contractproposals
    • Serve as a backup in the review ofoutgoing grant and contract proposals for institutional approvalprior to submission to funding agencies.
    • Reviewand execute (when applicable) institutional certification andassurances documents.
    • Assist RAPIT Directorwith facilitating cross-team collaborations to understand importantand frequent issues and create processes to ensure seamlesshandoffs between Research Operations Divisions and other ancillaryoffices.
    • Has the authority to direct andsupport employees' daily work activities; has the directresponsibility to undertake the following employment activities:hiring, termination, corrective action and perform review; directreports: 2 or 3
