    Description

    Teaming across the entireWinterberry Group organization, the role of the Landscape Designeris to actively seek out new business opportunities, meet withclients to fully understand their needs, and then createworld-class designs that meets their expectations and enhance theirlandscaping lifestyles. Working with theOperations Manager, the Landscape Designer will use theirclient-specific designs to construct accurate estimates and pricingproposals, and walk clients through to contractacceptance.

    Internally, the Landscape Designer will beresponsible for periodically visiting the client sites ensuringthat the
    projects are constructed in accordance with theplans. They will also be proactive withtrouble-shooting problems as they arise.

    The Landscape Designer is also responsible forrepresenting the company prominently at industry trade show andother similar events as part of the company s business developmentefforts to generate new leads.

    JobDuties

    • Proactivelyseeking out potential clients through networking and targetedmarketing.
    • Consulting with clients to fullyunderstand their needs and expectations, visiting clientproperties, surrounding areas, and gathering other necessary siteinformation, as appropriate.
    • Developing aworld-class landscaping design that meets the client s expectationsand budget.
    • Developing accurate projectestimates and pricing proposals, and converting them intocontracts.
    • Working with the Operations Managerto develop thoughtful project plans for each engagement taking intoaccount timing, required staffing, as well as materials and otherresources required.
    • Ensuring the highestquality standards and safety protocols are followed at alltimes.
    • Promoting exceptional customer servicethroughout the project.
    • Staying current withrespect to industry trends and projects thought leadership insideand outside the company.
    • Contributing to theoverall success of the Winterberry Group through cooperativeteamwork.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 3 years of related experience inthe landscape construction industry both commercial and residentialincluding leading and managing smallteams
    • Design experience is essential to thisrole.
    • Bachelors degree preferred, but notrequired
    • Class I or II driverlicense
    • Strong working knowledge of plants,turf, soil
    • Strong working knowledge oflandscaping stones and materials
    • Strong workingknowledge of industry and company-specific protocol and proceduresfor installing and maintaining landscapingproducts
    • Strong working knowledge oflandscaping machinery, equipment andtools
    • Strong working knowledge of the NewEngland climate and its impact on plants, soil andturf
    • Strong interpersonal and relationshipbuilding skills positively impacting teams andclients
    • Strong oral and written communicationskills
    • Track record of successful consultingwith clients regarding needs and desires
    • Strongestimating including small on-the-spot estimates - sales andproject management skills
    • Ability to work in afast-paced, action-oriented environment
    • Highlyorganized and detail-oriented, yet flexible to adjust to changingdemands
    • Projects a positive and professionalimage
    • Proficient in MS Office, CAD, otherindustry-specific applications, and mobiletechnology
