    Description

    Our client is aleading wholesale supplier to the heating, air conditioning, andrefrigeration industry. They are privately owned and part of thelargest wholesale cooperative in the nation, and currentlyrank as the #2 HVAC/R distributor in the UnitedStates.

    TheOutside Sales Representative is responsible for establishingcontact with existing customers, generating new business andcultivating current opportunities as well as following up on newleads.
    • Developsa thorough knowledge base of customers in the territory. Conductsresearch to understand customer revenue potential,creditworthiness, business focus and operations, current supplierand manufacturer relationships, and other information pertinent todetermining customer fit. Categorizes and prioritizes accountswhile allocating time to highest priorities. Maps opportunitiesintoterritories/zones.
    • Initiatescontact with customers and develops relationships with influencersand decision makers. Questions, listens and observes to uncovercustomerneeds.
    • Takes aconsultative approach to sales by proposing product and serviceprograms that are linked to customer needs, while maintainingprofitability metrics. Articulates the value of programs andservices in terms of resolving customer needs andproblems.
    • Collaborateswith customers to define next steps, and coaches customers throughthe buyingprocess.
    • Works withcustomers to plan and forecast sales. Participates with managementin updating territory plans, forecasts and setting territory salesgoals.
    • Callson customers on a regular basis to ask for feedback; review andadjust forecasts and programs as necessary; provide insights aboutthe market, industry, supplier marketing programs, and otheropportunities available for customers. Develops a trusted businessadvisor relationship withcustomers.
    • Providescustomer information to the branch team to help them support thecustomer. Communicates product and pricing programs, as well asspecific things needed from each department to support customercommitments. Follows up to ensure internal departments are able tomeet customer expectations. Proactively follows up on leads orissues uncovered by the branchteam.
    • Servesas the main point of contact to resolve customer issues orproblems.
    • inputscustomer interactions into CRM tool. Analyzes customer sales,margins, share of wallet, buying behaviors, and AccountsReceivable.
    • Providesreports to management on a regularbasis.
    • Monitorsmarket conditions, product innovations, and competitors products,prices, and sales. Maintains knowledge of new and existing productsand inventory by participating in training, studying Johnstone andindustry catalogs and web sites, and seeking knowledge from salesmanager and other knowledgeablesources.
    • Servesas a representative of the company at trade association meetings,industry events, open houses, or other events at the customer srequest.


    Requirements

    Four years ofoutside sales experience.

    High SchoolDiploma or G.E.D and minimum of two years related experience and/ortraining in the HVAC/R industry; OR equivalent combination ofeducation and experience.

    Preferred:

    College degreein a relevant field (e.g.business).
