The Digital Assets Technology team at FranklinTempleton is looking for a full stack developer to supportinnovation projects of small to large scale. Our team is focused ondelivering technology to represent shares in mutual funds withtokens issued on blockchain platform(s) in a manner which permitslive trading/exchange on a potentially worldwide and 24/7 basis. Wesupport a mobile app focused on retail investors a website focusedon institutional investors and an internal admin tool for ourcustomer support team. We have a variety of projects to enhance thecurrent platform as well as projects to expand our reach outsidethe US. Subject to performance and business requirement this contract maybe extendable. What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position Software Engineer provides expertise andexperience in application development and production supportactivities to support business needs.
    • Refactors the codebase of applications forextensibility structural elegance and performance optimizationpurposes.
    • Reviewssource code and design of peers incorporating advanced businessdomain knowledge.
    • Offers vocal involvement in design and implementation discussions.
    • Provides alternateviews on software and product design characteristics to strengthenfinal decisions.
    • Develops and maintains high use critical path libraries offunctions and frameworks
    • Designs unit and integration testing approach.
    • Designs and conductsnonfunctional testing using software profilers and scalabilitytools.
    • Demonstratesa comprehensive understanding of software system interdependencies.
    • Creates high and lowlevel application design artifacts including process flows datamodels and interfaces based on maintenance operations andperformance standards.
    • Interprets requirements to develop and/or modifytechnical design specifications for offtheshelf and/orcustomdeveloped applications.
    • Defines and validates nonfunctional requirements.
    • Defines anddocuments the environment usage strategy.
    • Creates integration test plans.
    • Participates indefining the technology roadmap.
    What qualificationsskills and experience would help someone to be successful
    • 3 to 5 years of fullstack developer experience
    • Strong communication skills to collaborate on solutionswith other team members
    • Selfstarter and individual thinker
    • Ability to take aproblem and use resources to solve it
    • Blockchain technology knowledge/interestpreferred but not required
    • Experience with Kubernetes orchestration
    • Programming/Softwareand Frameworks: Java React Python Atlassian tools
    • Able to commit tooverlapping work hours with US Eastern Time (ET) for initialtraining after which as needed to support ongoing business needs
