Description

Job Purpose

The jobholder will be responsible for running all daily operations within the engineering department. Managing and monitoring the smooth running of all department operations. Ensuring the continuous functioning of the department within EKFC. Effectively and efficiently completing all tasks related to specialist systems/facilities management/general maintenance and fire safety.

Key Result Areas:

1. Ensure adherence to all safe working practices in accordance with safety legislation. Ensuring the operational safety of all employees, equipment and assets at all times.

2. Ensure adherence to all quality systems and Policy in accordance with ISO 9001:2001 international standards and Company Policy. Ensuring the quality standards are met by all employees at all times.

3. Deliver Project requirements to ensure completion within agreed parameters of project.

4. Ensure robust, realistic maintenance schedules are in place and monitor performance against the schedule.

5. Diagnose and analyse faults to ensure minimum down time of equipment.

6. Approve repair schedules ensuring cost effective, timely resolutions and manage within the department's budgetary constraints.

7. Resolve work related grievances within the project teams.

8. Ensure stocks and supplies are managed to guarantee availability when required and safeguard down time of equipment.

9. Ensure the maintenance teams have clearly documented roles, responsibilities expectations and accountabilities at all times.

10. Sets clear performance objectives that are clear, specific, challenging and achievable and provides regular feedback on performance.

Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience

Education Qualification:

• An engineering Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from a recognised body.

Work Experience:

7 years of relevant experience in either a Catering, Facilities or Project Management environment.
Sound knowledge / experience in Engineering Legislation with strong exposure to Quality standards and Safety system practices.
Experience in managing and developing a team.

1. Ability to stay calm in Emergency situations.

2. Ability to Multitask.

3. Ability to troubleshoot problems associated with maintenance and breakdown issues.

4. Strong written, verbal, and communication skills.

5. Ability to set priorities and assign work to other professionals.

6. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.

7. Self-motivated and proactive personality.
