    Description
    Summary:
    The responsibility of theRegional Sales Manager is to provide leadership and oversight forthe regional sales team, as well as, all selling and marketingactivities. This will include relevant safety standards, settingsales staffing needs, compensation programs, marketing activitiesand budgeting. The Sales Manager will work with other relevantdepartments to establish future volume and margingoals.

    Expectations:
    • Recruit,hire, train, and retain a team of high caliber sales employees thatwill thrive in a positive work environment whereemployees have the autonomy to contribute and todevelop customer relationships.
    • Holdperiodic performance feedback meetings with each salesperson andaddress any performance issues with a performance improvement plan.Make staff changes necessary to maintain a high performance salesorganization.
    • Participate in thedevelopment of the annual budget and work with the regionalleadership team to deliver on the volume and income budgets asapproved by seniormanagement.
    • Manage the salescompensation plan to compensate sales employees fairly and toprovide incentive to growvolume.
    • Work closely with the salesteams to drive new business growth. Focus on value added businesswhile strategically growing the commodity segment of the regionalbusiness.
    • Work closely withmarketing resources to implement marketing actions to grow thecompany identity and brand in themarket.
    • Participate with the creditteam to manage accounts receivable. Set an expectation of prudentAR management and active involvement of the sales team workingclosely with the regional creditmanager.
    • Participate in industrymeetings to stay abreast of the feed industry environment and thepotential impact.
    • Participate as amember of the regional leadership team contributing to the overallsuccess of the company.
    • Maintain asales presence with select keycustomers
    • Maintain a relationshipwith outside nutritionists, vendors and other industryrepresentatives
    SupervisoryResponsibilities:
    Provide Oversight and leadershipto a team of outside sales people, inside sales people, andnutritionists

    Qualifications:
    • Educationand/or Experience: Minimum of a Bachelor s degree (B. S.) fromfour-year college or university or equivalent experience, plus 5 ormore years of selling experience, preferably in animal agricultureor a relatedfield.
    • Avalid driver s license is required for thisjob
    • LanguageSkills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, shortcorrespondence, and memos, to write simplecorrespondence and to effectively present informationin one-on-one and small to mid-sized group situations to customers,clients, the sales team or other employees of theorganization.
    • Mathematical Skills:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts,interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area,circumference, and volume; to apply concepts of basic algebra andgeometry.
    • Reasoning ability: Abilityto recognize and define problems, collect data, establish facts,and draw valid conclusions; to interpret and extensive variety oftechnical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dealwith several abstract and concretevariables.
    • Computer Skills: Toperform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledgeof Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software and Microsoft WordProcessing software.
    • Other Skill andAbilities: Knowledge of dairy operations and ruminant nutrition areessential.
