    Description

    JobPurpose:

    TheAcademic and Community Engagement Unit Head manages and coordinatesall activities linked to engaging various audience segments witheducational and cultural activities and programs. The role holderwill manage, organise and disseminate information about the CompanyMuseum exhibitions, interpretation and education activities for avariety of audiences, staff, contractors andvolunteers.

    RolesandResponsibilities:

    • Workingwith the Education and Learning Resources Manager, the role holderwill prepare the short- and medium-term plans for the unit andassist in establishing methods, policies and procedures forimplementing programmes in alignment with the strategic vision,mission andgoals.
    • Manage andprepare a variety project for Education and Learning Resourcesdepartmentactivities.
    • Therole hole will facilitate and coordinate the training required forthe team of volunteers and guides (usually two to three times ayear) and ensure junior staff within the unit are wellversed.
    • Createsopportunities and reports on the same for department activities,including roadshows, for schools, universities, People ofDetermination, hard to reach communities, the academic community,creative community, families and volunteers (amongst others).Prepares progress and status reports by analysing and summarizingthe information, trends and forecasts ofvisits.
    • Contributesto departmental plans which project funding, feasibility, staffing,and related constraints of the department ensuring the availabilityof required resources to carry out all the tasks related to theneeds (in coordination with HRDepartment).
    • Responsibleto link the museum and its programs (exhibitions, cultural andeducation programs) to the diverse audiences with the aim to makethe museum a place for many communities and is the pivotal point ofcontact with for the Emirati community, ensuring local content andcontext is wellrepresented.
    • Key point ofcontact for organizing school, university and community-basedroadshow and locally based artists for different museum programsand initiatives and a representative at department meetings andofficialevents.
    • Developsand leads academic and community events in and outside themuseum.
    • Assistsother departments in the museum in regards to attracting new andreturningaudiences.
    • Ensuresoperational excellence in achieving KPI s, working towardsestablishing a sustainable financial model by achieving any setfinancial targets and driving internal process improvement andefficiency and, ensuring the offering of attractive products ortools that lead thisenablement.
    • Asa brand ambassador the role holder will consider the customerprospective in all your projects - working to understand and manageallstakeholders.
    • As a leader, therole holder will create learning opportunities by collaboration,transfer of knowledge, or developing employees in their respectivearea, that drive employee engagement and growth across theMuseum.


    Requirements

    Bachelor sDegree in Museum Education, Art Education, Art History, History,andMuseology

    (PreferredMasters (inabove)

    7years+ post graduate experience in running audience developmentprogrammes in a museum or culturalsetting

    Experience ofbudget and projectmanagement

    Experience insimilar position in educationallearning

    Knowledge ofcurrent practice in audience development and museumeducation

    Fluency inArabic andEnglish

    Experience ofbudget and projectmanagement.



    Bachelor s Degree in Museum Education, Art Education, Art History,History, and Museology (Preferred Master's (in above) 7 years+ postgraduate experience in running audience development programmes in amuseum or cultural setting Experience of budget and projectmanagement Experience in similar position in educational learningKnowledge of current practice in audience development and museumeducation Fluency in Arabic and English Experience of budget andproject management.
